Six months have passed since Jake Paul’s last appearance (5-0, 4 KOs). The young YouTuber in December last year continued his unbeaten run in the boxing ring, knocking out Tyron Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion.

Jake took a break for a while and was preoccupied with the job of promoting the fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano. In collaboration with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, Hearn and Paul promoted probably the biggest match in the history of women’s boxing.

Now that this has settled down, Paul is ready to step into the ring again, and that is likely to happen on August 6 (the eighth month). The name of the opponent is not known, but Tommy Fury is emerging as one of the favorites for the role.

Still, another name stands out as a potential opponent of Jake Paul, and it would be arguably the biggest and toughest match for YouTube. Namely, the legendary Mike Tyson does not hide his interest in doing that match, and as a guest of Jimmy Kimmel, "Iron" Mike commented on that fight.

"Anything is possible but it has got to happen this year. That could be very interesting. He is skilled enough and I will give it to him because he is winning. Even if he is fighting fighters that aren't meant to be good enough, they should still be beating him but they can't.

He is beating people that he shouldn't really be beating so you have to give him credit. He is doing good and he is doing things that are great for boxing. This guy has 7 million people following him every time he fights. The champions of the world don't have that many people following him so what he is doing for boxing is sensational.

No one should be hating on him, what this kid is doing they should be following him. He is helping everybody get money so why are people mad at him?" Tyson explained.

Jake replied via Twitter

"Thank you to the great Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity.

This year we are making it happen." Jake said.

So Tyson and Paul somehow verbally agreed to a showdown.

It remains to agree on the details and make everything official. Although there is a 31-year difference between them, this would be a big test for Paul. Mike held an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in late 2020 and showed enviable form.

He is technically in another dimension compared to Paul and with quality preparations, Tyson could make huge problems for the inexperienced Paul.
