Andy Ruiz Jr believes Joshua can beat Usyk

Former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. he believes that Anthony Joshua can avenge his loss to Usyk, although he says that "all the odds are against him" We remind you, that Joshua and Usyk will fight on August 20 (the eighth month) in Saudi Arabia.

Andy Ruiz shocked the world when he defeated Joshua in 2019, knocking him down four times to win the WBO, IBF, IBO, and WBA titles. Half a year later, Joshua did the rematch very smartly, although not very attractively, and returned the belts to his ownership.

Two years later, a disturbance in the heavyweight division is created by Usyk outboxing Joshua and taking his belts again. In preparation for the fight, Joshua parted ways with longtime trainer Robert McCracken and went to veteran Roberto Garcia.

This time Joshua enters as an underdog, but Ruiz thinks Joshua has more of a chance than everyone thinks: “I think he [Joshua] can, you know," Ruiz Jr told FightHub TV when predicting the second battle between Joshua and Usyk.

"In the heavyweight division, anything could happen. It only takes one punch to change the fight. So, it’s all up to the one that’s more hungry. You know, Anthony Joshua goes down and he comes back up or he loses, and then he fights again to win.

I don’t... Usyk is a hard guy too. You know, his style. He throws combinations. Hopefully, if I win on September 4 against Luis Ortiz, if Wilder doesn't win then we could look for Usyk if he wins." said Ruiz. The rematch between Usyk and Joshua will take place on August 20 (the eighth month) in Saudi Arabia.

DAZN announced that Joshua had signed a long-term deal.

"I am entering a new phase in my career with a new training environment, new coaches, and now a new broadcaster," said Joshua, ESPN's No. 4 heavyweight.

"Negotiations at this level take time, so I am pleased to have it all wrapped up and now I can fully focus on giving the fans and DAZN what they want -- knockouts in the glamour division."
