When it comes to Tyson Fury, things obviously can't be easy. "Gypsy King" retired in the fourth month of this year after his victory over Dillian Whyte. However, it was clear to everyone that it was the shenanigans of the British boxer who tried to attract as much attention as possible to his match against Whyte, and Fury hopes to make a lot of money to return to fighting.
Tyson was waiting for the outcome of the match between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua, and it's no secret that he hoped for Joshua's victory. Although Usyk is a better boxer, AJ is still a bigger star than the Ukrainian, and Fury and Joshua in a British showdown to unify the heavyweight belts would break many records.
With his new victory over Joshua, Usyk prevented that scenario and now the Ukrainian is hoping for a match against Tyson Fury. The winner of that fight would become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Tyson Fury offers Anthony Joshua a match
"Tyson Fury here, aka the Gypsy King, the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, as you can tell," Fury said in a video posted to Instagram, wearing his belts.
I think you've all heard that I'm going to be fighting soon, within the next few months, and I think that before I announce an opponent, I need to do this, just in case. "Anthony Joshua, I know you've just lost a fight to Usyk and you're beltless at the moment, and I'd like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world in the next few months.
You're coming off a 12-round fight, so you're match-fit, you're ready. I'm giving you a few months notice, if you're interested I'll send you the date over and we can have a rumble, a battle of Britain for the WBC championship.
"Let me know if you're interested. If not, I will select another opponent. Thank you very much, and good night." So, Anthony Joshua continues to rank very high and is the desired opponent for almost every top heavyweight, including Tyson Fury, who according to many is the best heavyweight.
"AJ" plans to fight until the end of the year, and maybe Tyson Fury will be his next opponent. Usyk does not plan to perform again this calendar year, and this opens the door wide for a confrontation between Fury and Joshua.
