Gervonta Davis was arrested on Tuesday in Parkland, and jailed on domestic violence and bodily harm charges, according to Broward County Sheriff's Office records. Davis remains in custody at the Broward County Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale and is expected to appear in court in the next few hours.
Davis, 28, of Baltimore, is expected to fight Hector Luis Garcia Jan. 7 in Washington. The fight is scheduled as a prelude to the April 25th Las Vegas superfight against Ryan Garcia. Davis will also appear in Baltimore court on February 16 for his alleged involvement in an accident that occurred in November 2020.
According to court documents, Davis is accused of fleeing the scene of an accident involving four people, including a pregnant woman. He is facing 14 charges, including failure to return immediately and standing at the scene of the crash with bodily harm.
A civil lawsuit is also pending for this. The U.S. boxer was also facing two allegations dating back to February 2020 in which he was observed beating up his ex-girlfriend.

About Davis
On January 14, 2017, he won the IBF super featherweight world title, defeating reigning champion José Pedraza via technical knockout in the seventh round.
On May 20, he defended the belt, by technical knockout in the third round, against the Englishman Liam Walsh. The following August 26, despite the KO victory against Francisco Fonseca, he lost the title due to missing the contest weight.
He returned to the ring on April 21, 2018, defeating Argentinian Jesús Cuellar by knockout. The fight, valid for the WBA super featherweight title, allows Davis to obtain another world champion belt. He then defended the title on two occasions, both by technical knockout: the first, against Hugo Ruiz while, the second, against Ricardo Núñez.
On 25 October 2019 he announced the transition to the lightweight category, through the match against the expert Cuban boxer Yuriorkis Gamboa, scheduled for 28 December. On that date, in addition to winning yet another fight by technical knockout, Davis conquered the vacant WBA world title.
On October 31, 2020 he became the WBA super featherweight champion for the second time, defeating Léo Santa Cruz by knockout in the sixth round. On May 26, 2021, the match against compatriot Mario Barrios for the WBA super lightweight world title is confirmed.
The fight, which took place on June 26, saw Davis become champion in three different weight divisions, thanks to a TKO victory obtained in the eleventh round. On October 6, 2021, the fight between Davis and former interim WBA lightweight champion Rolando Romero was announced for the following December 5.
Despite this, on October 31, Romero was accused of se*ual harassment and replaced with the Mexican Isaac Cruz. The fight saw Davis defend the belt by unanimous decision. Finally, on 24 January 2022, the match against Romero was confirmed for the following 28 May. At the PPV, Davis wins the dispute thanks to a technical knockout obtained in the sixth round.
