The talented, super middleweight fighter John Ryder put on a fabulous show earlier this month against Canelo; he displayed perseverance and toughness till the last round and shocked everyone who doubted him. With moments of dominance, it would be unfair to say that the match was one-sided, and after performing so well, John Ryder is clear about who he wants to fight next.

After his recent loss, Ryder has a professional record of 32-6 (18 Knockouts), and it will be very interesting to see him appear in the boxing ring again.

John Ryder on who he wants next

In an interview with Boxing Social, John Ryder mentions how he idolizes Gennadiy Golovkin and talks about Golovkin’s recent clash against Canelo.

Moreover, he reveals that he wants to fight him and explains why. He [Eddie Hearn] mentioned it to me. Golovkin is a legend. I’ve been a big fan of Golovkin for the last ten years. The same thing with Canelo,” Ryder said as quoted by boxingnews24.com.

“I’d like to think it would go with me winning and walking away with my hand raised. Let’s give the man respect. He’s been a servant to the sport throughout the years. He’s taken the rough with the smooth.

I feel like he was harshly judged in the first Canelo [fight in 2017]. “He’s been a great fighter throughout the years, but I want to fight the best and test myself against him. So, I’ll give him the respect that he deserves, but going in the ring against him, I’ll give my all.

“I’ve not been a super middleweight all this time. So I’ve been a fan of these people for a lot of years. I just want the biggest and best fights,” Ryder further said. “So if you’re at 168 and in the top ten, then it’s a possibility.

“I want the biggest and the best fights, and I’ll go where I need to go to get them”.
