Dmitry Bivol shocked the boxing world by becoming the second fighter to give Canelo Alvarez the taste of defeat. Only a few expected the fight to be in Bivol's favour, and after securing a giant victory against Canelo, he fought against the undefeated Gilberto Ramirez.

Bivol emerged victoriously one more time and made Ramirez suffer through his first-ever career loss. Canelo has been hungry for redemption ever since he faced the bitter loss against Bivol; however, due to negotiation barriers, the highly anticipated rematch may not happen this year.

Bivol's manager spoke about this in greater depth and explained why the match wouldn't take place this year.

Vadim Kornilov speaks about the rematch

Dmitry Bivol's manager Vadim Kornilov gives an update about the rematch and reveals who's potentially next for him.

To many fans' disappointment, the rematch might not take place this year because Canelo and his team are still stuck on the same terms as the first match. "They don't want a rematch," Kornilov said, as quoted by "They know that they lost very badly in the first fight and that they have less chances of winning in the second.

When have you heard of a fighter who, after losing, asked for a rematch on the same terms?". He further said: "In my opinion I think they don't want a rematch and they are saying that to justify themselves and make another fight like they did with Golovkin, John Ryder and maybe Berlanga".

A rematch cannot take place on the same terms as the fight you lost. It's stupid. We are looking forward. Artur Beterbiev is our target”. Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beterbiev will be nothing less than fireworks of striking; it is really worth knowing that Beterbiev has knocked out every opponent he has faced until now.

With a 100% knockout rate, he is set to fight against Callum Smith on August 19th, and it will be very interesting to see if he can extend his indestructible knockout streak.
