Guillermo Rigondeaux will be fighting a new opponent on Saturday night

The bantamweight clash between Guillermo Rigondeaux and Julian Evaristo Aristule was originally scheduled to take place; however, the Argentinian fighter had to pull out to visa-related complexities. Since Julian Evaristo Aristule couldn’t travel abroad, the matchmakers were bound to find a replacement, and they were successful in finding one.

Julian Evaristo Aristule will have to wait for a little longer before he can grab an opportunity to fight again; maybe before the end of summer, his fans can see him compete against a well-known opponent. Guillermo Rigondeaux will now be fighting against the Puerto Rican fighter Charlie Clemente-Andino; in terms of experience Clemente-Andino is definitely behind Aristule; however, it is worth knowing that Clemente-Andio has not tasted defeat yet; he has a professional record of 12-0 (5 Knockouts).

The fight is less than a week away

The match is scheduled to take place on 9th June at Casino Miami Jai Alai in Miami, Florida. Guillermo Rigondeaux fought earlier this year against Jesus Martinez and scored a comprehensive knockout victory.

The 42 year old finally broke his 2 match losing streak after the win against Martinez; it’s great to see him this active at the age he is at, most people consider retiring at 42, but he still seems to have fight in him, and we can expect to see him a few more times in the boxing ring.

Interestingly, Guillermo Rigondeaux shared the ring with Vasyl Lomachenko and fought quite decently until the end of round 6 when he strangely decided to give up; he informed the referee that he wouldn’t be able to continue anymore.

So that match was scored an L-RTD in Rigondeaux’s stats, and back then, it was his first ever career defeat. This has to be one of Charlie Clemente-Andino’s toughest matches so far, and it will be very interesting to see if the undefeated fighter can sustain his position and extend his winning streak against the well-experienced Guillermo Rigondeaux.
