Katie Taylor has consistently delivered spectacular performances, and based on the untouchable momentum she created, it looked like she was on a never ending winning streak. However, Chantelle Cameron flipped the game around and became the first female boxer to give Katie Taylor the bitter taste of defeat.
As a part of the contractual agreement, the rematch is set to take place on 25th November at 3 Arena, Dublin. In almost a week, we will find out if Katie Taylor has what it takes to reclaim her belts and rule the division again.
Katie Taylor fought for the first time in her hometown, but to her disappointment, she couldn’t execute according to her expectations; on the brighter note, Katie Taylor has the rematch opportunity, and it will be great to see how well she will utilize it.
It's match not worth missing out on.
Katie Taylor on the rematch
In a recent interview with BoxingScene.com, Katie Taylor reflected a little on her first-ever career defeat and addressed that she’s a better boxer now.
“I think so. I think failure causes you to analyze things a little bit more and that’s been the case for this fight,” Taylor said, as quoted by boxingscene.com. “I think that’s where all the growth happens.
Unfortunately, it has to be that way. When you suffer a loss, you’re forced to look at every single detail. In that aspect it’s always a good thing. I definitely feel like I’m a better boxer now than obviously the fight before and hopefully I can show what I can do on the actual night”.
The weigh ins and final press conferences are just a few days away; it’s a must win for Katie Taylor, and it would be fair to assume that the rematch will lead to a trilogy. Will Chantelle Cameron remain to be undefeated? we will find out in less than a week.
