Edgar Berlanga’s original plans were to fight with Canelo Alvarez, but if that fight fails to materialize, Berlanga would be ready to fight Gabe Rosado or Jamie Munguia next. It all depends on how Edgar Berlanga performs against Padraig McCrory on 24th February.

It’s a clash between the undefeated; their fight promises to be super-competitive. By the end of the fight, either one will lose their well-maintained undefeated professional record. Edgar Berlanga has exactly one fight left in his contract with Matchroom Boxing; the way Berlanga performs on Saturday night will determine if he will get his desired fight or not.

Edgar Berlanga’s fans may see more of him this year as he hopes to be more active; he wants to participate in more than just one fight. Canelo's next fight date has been disclosed; he is expected to show up on 4th May.

However, his opponent hasn’t been revealed yet.

Edgar Berlanga on who he wants after Padraig McCrory

In a recent interview with DAZN Boxing, Edgar Berlanga shed some light on the possible fights he could have after facing Padraig McCrory.

“We were looking at Munguia. That’s a big fight for us and Canelo,” Berlanga said, as quoted by boxingnews24.com. “You got this dude, Gabe Rosado. He’s talking smack over here on social media and stuff.

He’s talking so much smack on social media that people are really liking the fight. That’s crazy. Yeah. I got one more fight. I got this fight [with McCrory] in February, and then I got one more fight, and then I’m a free agent.

I think after this McCrory fight, a major fight should happen. This year is the year. I can’t be fighting one time a year”.
