Jorge Masvidal broke out of retirement commitments to show up one more time. However, on this occasion, Masvidal’s return will be inside the boxing ring against Nate Diaz for a 10-rounder. Apparently, this fight was supposed to be announced a long time back, but Nate Diaz complicated the negotiations.

According to Jorge Masvidal, Nate Diaz made quite a few demands, and without fulfilling them, he was firm on not signing the contract. Both fighters recently faced off during the kick-off press conference:

Jorge Masvidal on Nate Diaz

“He said he wouldn’t fight unless he walked out second, like non-negotiable,” Masvidal said, as quoted by

“Like what the * you talking about? Real Fighters Inc., and this the * you’re pulling? … Another thing that he wanted was his name on top, or he wouldn’t fight. So, I’m like, ‘Do you want to fight or what,*?’

Jorge Masvidal on the delay

“You’ve been telling the whole world the same *, because back in the UFC when I was fighting for titles and you were doing * nothing but picking your nose, you didn’t want to scrap after I got done with them title fights, and it was the same diva act.

Now, finally, we got the deal done. It took in totality, the deal took about a year. Like five months with the UFC, and another like four with Nate ‘The Diva’ Diaz”.
