Trial date gets set for Tesla head Musk’s “pedo guy” tweet on taxi driver

On Friday, the 10th of May 2019, a US judge had said that the Tesla head, Elon Musk, must face a defamation lawsuit, by a British driver, who claimed to be branded falsely as a pedophile and a child rapist by the Chief Executive of electric vehicle pioneer, Tesla Inc., indicating a latest tick-up of another lawsuit filed on Musk’s tweet.

Nevertheless, Tesla Chief had to settle two lawsuits over his Twitter use over the past nine months, as on last August, Musk was sued by the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) over allegation that he had allegedly warned his investors over Tesla’s departure from open market in a near-term outlook through one of his tweets, and he had again been sued by the US SEC last March over his Tweeter use.

However, this time, a US district judge, Stephen Wilson in Los Angeles had scheduled a trial for Musk on October 22nd over his latest tweet about a British taxi driver. Last month, the US District Judge, Wilson, had denied a Musk’s bid to dismiss the lawsuit filed by a British driver Vernon Unsworth, however, the judge did not explain the reasons why the comments could not be perceived as merely an opinion.
