Later on, Friday, the 21st of June 2019, United States Patent and Trademark Office had issued a statement saying that the billionaire Jeff Bezos’ Amazon.com Inc. had been granted a patent to capitalize its drones not only for delivering packages to customers, but also to proffer surveillance as a service to its huge customer-base.
Besides, according to the patent, from now on, Amazon.com Inc.’s delivery drones would be allowed to record videos of its clients’ property data in order to conduct thorough probes on any suspicious activity such as a theft attempt, a broken window, a fire or a garage door left open and a many more.
Apart from that, the surveillance function of the Amazon.com Inc.’s delivery drones would have a geo-fencing system installed, a technology to draw borders on its client’s property, while video footages outside of the geo-fencing would be obscured or removed.
Latest landmark development of a dramatic surveillance feature, widely viewed on sci-fi movies and TV shows, was granted an Amazon patent earlier this month, on June 4th, said the US Patent and Trademark Office, however, the No. 1 US e-commerce giant had filed for the patent back in the 2015s.
