On Friday, the 9th of August 2019, Adidas, the German multinational corporation engaged in designing and manufacturing of shoes, clothing and other accessories, founded and headquartered in Herzogenaurach, celebrated its 70th anniversary at its Bavaria Campus with appearances of high-profile sponsored athletes likes of German soccer legend Philip Lahm, a long-time veteran for Bayern Munich, a tennis veteran Stan Smith, 72, two-time Grand Slam singles champion alongside some of its celebrity partners likes of Pharrell Williams.
On top of that, in order to celebrate its 70th anniversary, Adidas had set out a new building not unlike a football stadium that would be able to house more than 2,000 employees at its newly introduced gorgeous-looking site just minutes away from the town of Herzogenaurach.
Besides, in a ceremonial speech on Adidas’s 70th birthday, Adidas Chief Executive, Kasper Rorsted said to the employees on Friday (August 9th), “This puts us in a perfect position for the future, continuing on our international growth track.
” In point of fact, founded as a shoe factory in Herzogenaurach back in 1924 by the brothers, Rudolf and Adolf Dassler, the German seller of sports accessories including shoes and clothings, Adidas, had turned out to be a market leader in sports industry after seven decades of wears and tears and scuffles.
Nonetheless, latest ceremonial event to celebrate Adidas’s 70th birthday comes amid a stressed market backdrop for the German footwear goliath, as it had already raised alarms over its second quarterly profit later last week adding that higher sourcing expenses alongside price cuts had been lowering its profit margins.
