News Corp. to develop “Knewz.com” to take on Google News

News Corp., the NY-based American multinational mass media corporation, founded back in 1980s by media mogul Rupert Murdoch, had been exploring an option to set out a news-aggregation service aimed at taking on Alphabet Inc.’s Google News service, while News Corp.’s “Knewz.com” might be launched as early as Q4 this year, a Wall Street Journal report published on Thursday, the 22nd of August 2019, had revealed citing inside sources directly briefed over the subject-matter.

On top of that, Thursday’s (August 22nd) Wall Street Journal report had also added that the news aggregation service would be called as “Knewz.com” as beforementioned, while it was expected to be available exclusively through a website alongside a mobile app.

Besides, according to the Wall Street Journal report, the new service of News Corp. would act similar to Google News aggregating intel from several sources and making them available through the site and the app. Aside from that, the owner of Fox News, News UK & Market Watch alongside the Wall Street Journal, News Corp.’s new service would curette data from hundreds of news sources including New York Times, the Washington Post, digital Native Players, The Wall Street Journal alongside local newspapers, Thursday’s (August 22nd) Wall Street Journal report said citing sources familiar with the subject-matter.
