On Friday, the 4th of October 2019, FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Director, Christopher Wray told that latest proposal of the social networking titan, Facebook Inc. to encrypt its popular messaging application could turn the internet service provider’s platform a safe-haven for Child pornographers and potential felons, as Wary was quoted saying, “a dream come true for predators and child pornographers,” referring to Facebook Inc.’s latest attempt to encrypt its messaging app in a bid to narrow down the extent of its potential privacy breaches.
Aside from that, addressing to a crowd of child protection and law enforcement officials in Washington, Wray had also been quoted saying on Friday (October 4th) that latest proposal of Menlo Park, CA-based social networking titan, Facebook Inc., would create a lawless space in America, not created by the American people or their representatives, but by such a tech conglomerate which had been facing off hundreds of lawsuits over potential abuse of its messaging platform.
In point of fact, latest comment from the FBI director, Christopher Wray comes on the heel of a media report that Facebook Inc. had been drawing up a plan to add encryption at its communication platform, while the United States alongside allied government had been fuelling up their push to make the digital protections stronger.
Meanwhile, adding that the tech companies were best-placed to provide a way around the law enforcement agencies, Wray said at his Friday (October 4th) speech, “We’re going to lose the ability to find those kids who need to be rescued. We’re going to lose the ability to find the bad guys. ”
