Late on Thursday, the 17th of October, China’s Industry Ministry had issued a statement saying that the Palo Alto, CA-based e-vehicle behemoth was added to a govt. list of approved automakers, as billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s Tesla Inc.
had received a green signal to start manufacturing in China. Meanwhile, as the list of approved automakers was published late on Thursday (October 17th) by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Tesla Inc. seemed to be presented with a rare and much-required breathing space amid a tit-for-tat tariff battle between US and China, which not only had contributed actively to a global scale slowdown, but had also led to a steep downturn on auto sales across the globe.
Apart from that, latest decision of Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology came forth as a blessing to Tesla Inc., as it had long been yearning to shift its production line into Europe and China amid Trump’s tariff battle with both EU and Beijing.
Meanwhile, adding that the latest decision of Beijing meant Tesla Inc. could start manufacturing its e-vehicles anytime in China, a head of the Shanghai-based consultancy Automotive Foresight, Yale Zhang said, “the green light is fully given to Tesla for production in China. ”
