Marriott partners up with a Kuwaiti Project in Morocco

The Marriott International and United Real Estate Co., a unite of the Kuwait Projects Co., made a joint statement on Saturday, the 9th of February, saying that they had reached an agreement to open up a resort near Marrakech.

Marriott International’s further mergers with potential hotels and resorts projects had been widely anticipated, since the Marriott International said on last October, that, they had already signed deals with several partners in order to increase its hotels in Africa 50 percent by 2023, opening new hotels and resorts in Kenya, Ghana, Morocco, alongside South Africa.

Besides, the hotel chain giant had also mentioned about their motive of entering into the markets of Mozambique. The Joint Statement published on Saturday, February the 8th, in Kuwait, said that the St. Regis Marrakech, located in Central Morocco, should be aired by 2024.

Nonetheless, the joint announcement from the Kuwait Projects Co. and the Marriott International did not reveal the cost of development. According to the statement, the signed agreement between Marriott International and the Kuwait Projects Co.

would be aiming to introduce Marriott’s St Regis brand to Marrakech, and the Morocco’s Assoufid Properties Development, one of the real estate development giants of the country would be owning the resort, while the resort would be developed by the Kuwaiti United Real Estate.
