A new report from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe has revealed that Russians used torture chambers in Bucha, Ukraine. This report, the second of the OSCE, covers the period from April 1 to June 25.
OSCE experts traveled to Ukraine to gather evidence. They stayed in the cities of Buča and Irpin, which the report says are "two examples of violations of International Humanitarian Law according to the Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols, which constitute war crimes."
OSCE experts noted that photographic and video evidence showed that Russian forces carried out "targeted, organized killings of civilians in Buca" who were found shot dead with their hands tied behind their backs.
The report documented "a series of torture chambers separated by concrete walls" discovered at the Buca summer camp, including a room the report said was used for executions. Bullet holes were also noted in the walls of that room
Ears were cut, teeth were extracted...
In another room, which experts said showed evidence of water torture, five dead men were found.
"They were covered in burns, bruises and cuts," the report said. In a village near Buča, the bodies of 18 men, women and children were discovered in the basement. The report says that some had their ears cut off, while some had their teeth pulled out.
Also, the report talks about numerous cases of rape committed by Russian troops. The report also writes about some particularly cruel cases. Thus, it is mentioned that Russian troops captured 25 girls between the ages of 14 and 24 in Buča and systematically raped them.
Nine girls got pregnant. Also, the report says that the Russians used captured Ukrainians as human shields and forced them to fight on Russia's side. "Russian soldiers used over 300 Ukrainians as human shields and held them captive for 25 days in the basement of the school where the Russian camp was stationed," the report states.
