Hollywood actress Anne Heche was seriously injured in a car accident that happened in the suburbs of Los Angeles. As TMZ reports, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby garage. Passers-by tried to help her, but she decided to continue driving.
After a few seconds, she hit another house again, and her Mini Cooper caught fire. It is assumed that she was under the influence of alcohol, given that a bottle was found in the car. The Los Angeles Police Department did not provide additional information about this accident to American journalists.
Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the news to local media outlets. Humphrey said the car stopped within a 738-square-foot two-story home built in 1952. He also revealed that the crash caused structural compromise and fire.
“Fifty-nine Firefighters took 65 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure, and rescue one female adult found within the vehicle, who has been taken to an area hospital by LAFD Paramedics in critical condition,” he added.
Heche is in critical condition
TMZ stated that she is currently in the hospital and is in critical condition. Heche has previously spoken without hesitation about her vices. "I drank. I smoked. I did drugs. I was addicted to s*x.
I did everything I could think of to forget about the shame I felt," she said in an interview with ABC News last year. She added that her bad life choices were the result of being s*xually abused by her father, Donald Heche, as a child.
Heche became known in the '90s for films like "Six Days Seven Nights", "Donnie Brasco" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer". She received an Emmy in 1991 for her role in the series Another World. Her relationship with star presenter Ellen DeGeneres also made headlines at the time.
