Sergey Lavrov: United States has no intention of ending the conflict

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, has repeatedly shown that he has no great confidence in the USA and its 'peace intentions' Lavrov stressed that the Americans are using the time to help the Ukrainians.

"The problem, however, is that the United States has no intention of ending the conflict," Lavrov said. Lavrov does not understand why Russian leaders were not invited to key meetings. Russian leaders understand such things as a refusal to negotiate on anything.

"Insisting on the so-called peace formula of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the meetings in Copenhagen and Jeddah - to which Russia was not invited - hardly shows the West's intention to negotiate with Russia," Lavrov continued.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent a peace proposal that does not suit the Russians at all at the moment. The leaders of this country are shocked by the demands of the Ukrainian president. Lavrov emphasized that the Russians have wanted peace many times but to no avail.

The question is how ready the Russians are for a peace agreement and a certain compromise in the whole story.
"Russia has repeatedly tried to negotiate, from the Minsk agreements of 2014 and 2015 to the drastic attempt to convey our concerns to Western capitals in December 2021," Lavrov said.

Sergey Lavrov is disappointed

Lavrov is disappointed by the reaction of the West, which is currently supplying the Ukrainians with weapons. This has been going on for a long time. "We consider the Westerners' hypocritical calls for talks as a tactical ploy to buy time again to give the exhausted Ukrainian troops a break and an opportunity to regroup and send more weapons and ammunition," Lavrov said.

Peace agreements in wars have always been the most difficult topic that takes a long time. We hope that the leaders of both countries will think carefully about the consequences of this war, especially Putin. This kind of situation does not suit anyone, and it only worsens the relations between these two countries, as well as the countries of the EU. The consequences of this war could be much greater than so far if the same policy is continued.
