Since the rise of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whispers and rumors have perpetually revolved around the Kremlin’s walls. Many believe that Putin, with his KGB past and tenure as the FSB security service chief, has a hand in the untimely demise of numerous critics.

A litany of figures linked to his administration have met their ends in suspicious or violent manners. As Business Insider cataloged, those who dared to challenge Putin's regime have often found themselves facing fatal consequences.

Yevgeny Prigozhin: From Putin's Cook to Fugitive Critic

The Russian state-owned news agency, TASS, recently reported a developing story about Yevgeny Prigozhin. An exiled founder of the Wagner Squad and the mastermind behind a failed coup, Prigozhin was allegedly killed in a plane crash.

While confirmation of his death is pending, it serves as the climax of a series of tumultuous events that have occurred over the past months. Prigozhin, often dubbed "Putin's cook," was not just a culinary aficionado. He emerged as a vocal opponent of the Russian military leadership, notably lambasting them for the inadequate strategizing of the war in Ukraine.

Moreover, he accused the Kremlin of squandering the prowess of his mercenary group. His disillusionment with the Russian government climaxed in June with a coup attempt, which ultimately led to Prigozhin and his militia's expulsion to Belarus.

However, the aftermath of the coup was shrouded in mystery. Pinpointing Prigozhin's exact whereabouts became a challenge. The enigmatic mercenary leader unexpectedly met Putin face-to-face mere days post the botched revolt. Shortly after, Prigozhin was spotted attending a significant summit involving African leaders.

Connecting the Dots: A Pattern of Premature Deaths?

The abrupt and suspicious nature of Prigozhin's potential death resonates with a troubling pattern. Many who have publicly criticized Putin’s regime have found themselves facing inexplicable tragedies.

The correlation between dissenting voices and mysterious demises is hard to dismiss. While correlation does not necessarily imply causation, the repeated instances of critics meeting untimely ends are concerning. It is imperative for the international community to monitor these occurrences closely, ensuring that the quest for truth and justice remains unimpeded.
