The global response to the power blackout in Gaza has been one of widespread concern and disbelief, as citizens' rights in the 21st century appear to be egregiously infringed upon. Following Hamas' attack on Israel, a drastic decision was made to sever the electricity supply to the Gaza Strip.

Fabrizio Carboni, the ICRC's regional director for the Near and Middle East, urgently conveyed his distress, emphasizing the current chaotic state in Gaza. The actions of Israel could result in dire consequences for the people of Gaza.

The absence of essential resources, particularly water, poses a grave threat, with Carboni expressing deep concern for the most vulnerable, especially children. "As Gaza loses power, hospitals lose power, putting newborns in incubators and elderly patients on oxygen at risk.

Kidney dialysis stops, and X-rays can't be taken. Without electricity, hospitals risk turning into morgues," warned Fabrizio Carboni. "Families in Gaza are already struggling to access clean water. No parent should ever be compelled to give their thirsty child dirty water," he added.

Israel Katz reacted

Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz affirmed that these measures will persist until the Israeli abductees are safely returned home. He stated, "Humanitarian aid to Gaza? No electric switch will be turned on, no water tap will be opened, and no fuel truck will enter until the Israeli abductees are returned home." It is evident that the most affected parties in this entire ordeal are the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The world is called upon to display compassion toward them, and Hamas must be held accountable for its actions. Rationality and the pursuit of the right solution are essential, offering hope for a resolution. US political leaders have consistently emphasized their support for Israel and their readiness to provide assistance during challenging times for the nation. In addition, several other countries have decided to do the same.
