The town of Berislav in Ukraine's Kherson region came under fire again this morning by Russian occupying forces. A family home was directly hit during the shelling, tragically resulting in the loss of a resident's life. This isn't the first time Berislav has been subjected to such violence.

Civilians in the past were notably targeted by drone strikes, making clear the indiscriminate nature of the attacks. In addition to Berislav, the Kherson region as a whole has witnessed significant unrest and hostility. An alarming count of 117 shelling incidents has been recorded, releasing a staggering 574 shells across various locations.

The city of Kherson alone was on the receiving end of 32 shells. The apparent strategy of the Russian forces is chilling, as they've taken aim at residential zones, educational establishments, businesses, and even a library.

The aftermath of these strikes has seen not just infrastructural damage but also heartrending civilian casualties.

Ukrainian Defense Forces Hold Their Ground

Despite the relentless aggression, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are showing resilience.

They remain steadfast in their defense of both the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine. Recent reports also indicate advancement in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions, with efforts being made to solidify the newly established borders.

The situation in the east, near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, is particularly tense. Russian forces have launched a siege on the city, resulting in four days of intense combat. Yet, in the midst of this turmoil, the Ukrainian defenders stand tall.

They have not only maintained their positions but are actively working on stabilizing the area. However, the cost has been high. The city's infrastructure has suffered considerably with the hospital, administrative buildings, and other vital establishments being reduced to rubble.

Even more concerning is the plight of trapped civilians beneath the debris, their rescue attempts hindered by the ceaseless bombardments. Further highlighting the dire situation, Pokrovsk, another city in the Donetsk region, experienced a horrifying rocket attack on a children's home.

The strike injured 20 civilians, painting a grim picture of the realities on the ground. The ongoing conflict continues to impact innocent lives, and the international community watches with bated breath, hoping for a resolution that would restore peace to the region.
