Turkey's President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, spoke today, October 28, in Istanbul, addressing a massive rally of one million supporters of Palestine. He asserted that the Western nations bear the greatest responsibility for the tragedy in Gaza.

"The main culprit behind the massacre unfolding in Gaza is the West. The massacre in Gaza is entirely the work of the West," Erdogan said. Erdogan recalled the Second World War, the gas chambers and the chaos that was in that period, and added; "They (the West) know how to kill," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader labeled Israel as a war criminal. "We will tell the whole world that Israel is a war criminal. We are making preparations for this. We will declare Israel a war criminal," he said.

Recep Tayipp Erdogan angry with Western world

Erdogan cannot understand the moves of Western countries that support Israel and do not see the suffering of the Palestinian people who are going through difficult times.

"All the Western countries are giving unconditional support to the attacks rather than calling Israel to return to common sense as if they have agreed to say the same thing," Erdogan said He called on everyone to react in these moments and do everything in their power to end this conflict.

No party can profit from this. In addition, Erdogan emphasized that Israel is a pawn "that will be sacrificed when the day comes". "The real owners of the game being played in the region are those who support the spoils of the Israeli government.

Israel cannot take a step in spite of them, and if it tries to do so, it will collapse in three days. I am asking from here. For the European Commission to be able to call for a ceasefire - let them give the number - how many more children need to die? For the United Nations Security Council to take action, how many more tonnes of bombs need to fall on Gaza? For Western institutions to say 'stop' to the massacre, how many more women, civilians and elderly need to lose their lives?" he said.
