Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with Ukrainian media, discussed the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has been ongoing for two years. The French President has had a clear stance since the beginning of the war: "We are ready to help Ukraine in every way so that Russia does not achieve victory."

Aware of the dangers posed by Putin's regime and its ambitions, Macron is cautious and prepared to take all steps to prevent the Russians. Interestingly, the French leader is optimistic about the future, expecting Ukrainians to be in a much better position to establish peace. Macron currently has no specific plans, believing that it is not yet necessary. However, he has expressed readiness to take certain actions if things become truly chaotic.

"I've said what our goal is. Russia cannot and must not win this war. Plus, our goal is to bring sustainable peace back to Europe... To achieve this goal, we will not go down the path of escalation, because we don't need another war, but we are prepared to say that we have no limits, and we will react to how Russia behaves.

At some point, Ukrainians will definitely have to be in a strong position at the end of this war when they negotiate a sustainable peace. But for now, I am not taking offensive initiatives because this is not the spirit of collective solidarity."- Emmanuel Macron said, as quoted by PRAVDA!

Emmanuel Macron highlighted the need to create a lasting peace that ensures safety for Ukraine and Europe. He urged European countries to step up their support efforts. Macron questioned why they should set limits on assistance when the enemy does not, suggesting a need for proactive measures to address the conflict's challenges.

European leaders are well aware of Vladimir Putin and his intentions. The Russian leader is known for assessing situations excellently, and this time, he is surely observing the situation and considering the next steps. European leaders do not want to remain silent about it. It is necessary to cautiously monitor the Russians and determine their intentions.

Macron has acknowledged that he would take a phone call from Vladimir Putin if the Russian leader called him. Emmanuel believes it is his responsibility. Regardless of the character of the Russian president, Macron is aware that negotiating is crucial, even when you think there is no chance of success.

The French leader understands that the Russians would have specific compromises, which he does not know at this point.

However, Macron would be ready to listen to Putin's and the Russian leadership's demands. Nevertheless, he emphasizes negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, considering them the main actors in this war, and they should primarily be open to negotiations. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly expressed his readiness to negotiate, aiming for peace.

"Yes, I would pick up the phone. Because I feel it is my responsibility. And I would listen to what he has to say. I believe that France's role is to be the sinews of war, as Churchill put it. On the one hand, we need to give Ukraine everything it needs to strengthen its defence capabilities, and on the other hand, we need to help de-escalate. We need to reach a sustainable, lasting and just peace. So if he suddenly wanted to propose something, I would listen to the meaning of his proposals. But then, of course, I have to say that the only negotiations are those that the heads of the two states [Russia and Ukraine – ed.] are willing to hold."- he continued.

Emmanuel Macron is ready to help Ukraine at any moment. He believes that it is important to give a guarantee to Ukraine regarding aid since they would clearly know what to expect and what to count on. When you gain certainty about help, then you can be open to negotiations. Ukraine can hardly match such an opponent without help from Europe and the world.

The French leader believes that European countries should be prepared for different scenarios. Ukraine is currently the biggest problem in the world, next to the Middle East. The defeat of Ukraine in this war could create enormous problems for Europe, but also for the world. The French president believes that it is necessary to be ready for anything. For him, the most important thing is for European countries to build a defensive system.

Ukrainians consider Macron one of the most important figures for peace in Ukraine. His commitment to supporting Ukraine, his views, and his openness are the reasons why he has tremendous support. Macron truly wants to establish peace in Ukraine, but he is aware of how challenging a task it is.
