US President Joseph Biden recently held a constructive telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which the key issue of preserving civilian lives and humanitarian workers in the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip was highlighted.

The conversation followed the tragic incident in which seven humanitarian workers lost their lives in an airstrike by Israeli forces. Joseph Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that in the future American support for the war in Gaza will depend on the steps taken by the Israeli side to protect civilians and humanitarian workers.

In the statement of the White House after the conversation, it was pointed out that President Biden emphasized the need for concrete and measurable steps by Israel that will reduce damage among civilians, alleviate the humanitarian crisis and ensure the safety of humanitarian workers.

This is a key issue that will shape US support for further military operations in Gaza. Biden made it clear that the US policy towards Gaza will be guided by an assessment of Israel's action on the ground and aligned with the requirements for the protection of civilians.

In addition, the President emphasized the urgent need for a ceasefire to protect innocent lives and enable the delivery of humanitarian aid to those most in need. This is a call for immediate action to prevent further tragedies and conflict escalation.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in a statement to reporters in Brussels, emphasized that the support of the United States of America will be conditioned by a significant adjustment by Israel in the conduct of military operations.

If the expected changes are not seen, the US will reconsider its policy and possibly reduce its support for Israel. This statement reflects the seriousness of the situation and the determination of the US to ensure the protection of civilians and respect for humanitarian principles in the conflict.

It is important to emphasize that Biden's call for responsible behavior and protection of civilians in accordance with the principles of international law and humanitarian norms is not the first so far. The US remains committed to resolving the conflict in the Middle East through dialogue, diplomatic efforts and support for peace and stability in the region, and this is another call in a series over the last 2 months.
