Ukraine carried out a massive drone attack on Russian energy infrastructure. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that two people were killed in the attack, and more than 50 Ukrainian drones were shot down. The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, which borders Ukraine, revealed that 26 drones were shot down in that area.

But that's not all, the attack was big with several important goals. The drones were reportedly destroyed in the regions around Moscow, as well as over Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Smolensk, Ryazan and Kaluga. Vladislav Šapša, the head of the Kaluga region, said that the drone attack caused a fire at the power grid substation.

Meanwhile, governors Aleksandar Bogomaz of Bryansk and Vasiliy Anokhin of Smolensk reported fires at fuel and energy plants. In recent months, Russian refineries and oil terminals have been the main targets of Ukrainian drone attacks.

In the last month alone, more than 10 attacks were recorded, almost all of which were unsuccessful. At the same time, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine, firing seven missiles, while Ukrainian air defenses claimed to have shot down three reconnaissance drones.

Odesa Oblast Governor Oleh Kiper revealed that ballistic missiles caused damage to infrastructure. Previous attacks on the Black Sea port city on Friday damaged the port, including two food export terminals, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

These exchanges of attacks tell us enough that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia is intensifying, with both sides targeting critical infrastructure in an attempt to gain leverage. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles marks a new dimension in modern warfare, offering strategic advantages while posing significant challenges to defense systems and even military powers such as Russia.

These attacks are mostly without human victims, but significantly affecting the energy supply and economic stability of the opponent. Summer in Ukraine, and from everything that has happened in recent months, major offensives are being prepared from both sides.

Russia, encouraged by the latest victories and Ukraine's problems with armaments and ammunition, is full of morale and it will be a real miracle if they do not launch a major strategic attack very soon.
