Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed in last night's address that Ukrainians will not silently observe the progress of the Russian army, ready to retaliate and stop the Russians in their intentions. The Ukrainian leader cannot be pleased with the progress of the Russian Army, which has achieved victories along the border between Russia and Ukraine, specifically in the Kharkiv region, where they have managed to capture four villages.

In his address to the nation and the world, he emphasized that the Russians have a clearly defined plan, but that Ukrainians will respond with the intention of stopping them. Zelenskyy is aware of the primary focus of Vladimir Putin and his government.

"Kharkiv Oblast is the main focus. Today [10 May – ed.], Russian troops tried to expand operations against Ukraine. We are aware of the size of the invaders' forces and see their plan. Our soldiers, our artillery, our drones are retaliating against the invaders. I am grateful to each of our soldiers, each sergeant, each officer who are defending our positions in the best way possible."- Zelenskyy said.

The Ukrainian president expressed his gratitude to the soldiers who stand firm in defense of Ukraine, ready to give their lives for this country. He confirmed that he will send more troops to the front lines in Kharkiv, aware of the importance of this part of Ukraine. Zelenskyy believes that Ukrainians will succeed in achieving victory on the front lines and prevent the Russians from advancing.

"We are adding more troops to Kharkiv fronts. Both along our state border and along the entire frontline, we will invariably destroy the invaders to disrupt any Russian offensive intentions."- Zelenskyy continued, as quoted by PRAVDA.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in constant contact with the military leadership of the country and generals, believing they are doing a great job and trusting that they can turn the tide. Zelenskyy has confirmed that he is doing everything in his power to maintain communication and halt the Russians.

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of concrete support, highlighting that it's the delivery of weapons to Ukraine that truly makes a difference, rather than just the announcement of aid packages. He expressed gratitude to leaders who understand this perspective and actively contribute to providing assistance.

The Ukrainian leader can be most grateful to the US, as they have approved a $60 billion aid package for Ukraine. The USA and Ukraine have had a strong relationship since the first day of the war, and the Americans have never once abandoned Ukraine, aware of the importance of supporting this country not only for Europe but for the world as well. The US political leadership is well familiar with the Russians and their policies, realizing the magnitude of the danger posed by Vladimir Putin and his associates.

Joe Biden, the US president, is a huge supporter of Ukraine and its people, hoping that this brave nation will achieve victory in this war.

John Kirby reacts: Russians could be preparing for a larger attack on Kharkiv

Americans are closely monitoring the course of the war, ready to take certain steps if Ukraine begins to experience more severe setbacks on the front lines. The USA has confirmed that it will continue to support Ukraine, expecting that the Russians are preparing for even larger attacks in the Kharkiv region.

John Kirby, White House National Security Council communications advisor, spoke specifically about the Russian offensive. He also emphasized that the White House does not anticipate any significant advances by the Russian army.

Kirby and the political leadership of this country believe that the aid coming from the US will likely serve as a guarantee of Ukraine's defense, at least until the end of this year. The Russians want to exploit the weakness of the Ukrainians, considering that they have been waiting for US aid for months. Kirby confirmed that the USA has no intention of abandoning the Ukrainians, prepared to provide any form of assistance to help them defend themselves.

The future of Ukraine: Can they defend themselves?!

It's difficult to say that Ukrainians can be optimistic when the current situation doesn't promise peace anytime soon. The greatest fear of the world and Ukraine is certainly Russia's victory, given the consequences that could follow. Although Vladimir Putin has denied that his country intends to attack another state, most important political figures in the world are not sure of the sincerity of the Russian leader.

The Russians want to capitalize on the momentum they have and continue with the offensive, ready to seize important areas in Ukraine. These are some of the crucial moments of the war, when Ukrainians will have to show courage and readiness like never before.

Fighting against Russia is an overwhelming task, but when you love your homeland and want to defend it, the impossible can become possible.
