Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a media interview, commented on the Russian breakthrough in Kharkiv, which has provoked a large number of reactions. Zelenskyy placed special emphasis on the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, considering him a person who doesn't value human life. Since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainian leader has openly criticized Vladimir Putin and his actions during the war. Zelenskyy believes that Putin's politics are based on principles that are inhumane, caring for no one but power, dominance, and achieving wartime objectives.

"[Russian ruler Vladimir] Putin does not care about understanding human life. Moreover, he does not care who speaks what language. He does not care about his own people, either civilians or soldiers."- he said, as quoted by Ukrainian Pravda.

The 46-year-old president has decided to speak about the enormous human losses concerning the Russian army, emphasizing that the ratio of casualties is 1 to 8, one Ukrainian to eight Russians. Some are not convinced of the sincerity of the Ukrainian president's words, but time will tell if there is truth in his words.

"Their breakthrough towards Kharkiv, which happened a little over two weeks ago, [ended] with military casualties of 1 to 8, one Ukrainian to eight Russians."- he continued.

The Ukrainian leader emphasizes that his statistical data has been verified and is accurate, stating that this statistic exists even in Russia. Additionally, Zelenskyy highlighted that the Russians have suffered many casualties in the previous period. He receives analyses on a weekly basis.

He is particularly surprised, considering that the Russian leadership doesn't particularly care about such figures. Their focus is rather on breakthroughs and territorial conquests than on human casualties.

The Ukrainian president has reiterated many times that the priority for him is the lives of soldiers and the defense of Ukraine. Ukrainians have no intention of basing their defense or offense on disregarding how many soldiers will die.

"And tell me, somewhere out there [in Russia] this statistic is given, is he [Putin] interested in [the human casualties] or not? Before that, there were about 2,000 to 3,000 [Russian] casualties a week – I constantly receive analyses about the killing of Russian soldiers. 2,000-3,000 families lost their children. "-he continued.

Zelenskyy highlights Putin's apparent indifference. Instead of addressing the conflict, Zelenskyy stresses that Putin seems detached, possibly indulging in leisure activities like being in a spa or bathhouse. However, this detachment doesn't absolve him of responsibility for the bloodshed.

The urgency lies in preventing further destabilization. Zelenskyy stresses the necessity for global unity, emphasizing that no country, including those with close ties to powerful nations like China, can withstand a full-scale war with Russia alone. Ukraine's strength lies in its unity with its people.

The Ukrainian leader has repeatedly called upon his people for courage and defense of the country. He believes that without unity and faith, nothing is possible. Among Ukrainians, there has been a sense of unity and faith, which is certainly the most important step towards success. Although recent setbacks may cause pesimism, Ukrainians strive to remain positive in the toughest times. Assistance from the US and major powers is certainly one of the reasons why the future may be brighter for the people of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is seeking help from NATO

Volodymyr Zelenskyy has once again called on major powers to help him, this time referring to air defense. He called on NATO to shoot down Russian aircraft flying over Ukraine. In his explanation, he emphasized that shooting down Russian missiles is important for the defense of his country. Zelenskyy elaborates on his view, considering that it does not represent an attack on Russia, as Russian planes or pilots are not being killed. He doesn't understand why NATO countries are unwilling to react in this way, believing that there is no problem in this scenario.

Although assistance has arrived many times before, Zelenskyy points out that NATO members must continue to provide assistance because it is the only way for Ukrainians to defend themselves. Furthermore, Zelenskyy once again calls on NATO countries to send weapons to Ukraine, which they could use against the Russian army on the border.

“Shoot down what is flying in the sky over Ukraine. And give us weapons that we can use against Russian forces on the borders.”- he concluded.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a man who has bravely fought for his country from day one, and he is an example of a true leader, ready to confront any force to defend his people. Ukrainians hope that with Zelenskyy's help, as well as the military and political leadership, they can achieve victory in this war, which has been going on for over two years.
