During his visit to Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy placed special emphasis on the Ukraine Peace Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Switzerland in two weeks. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has previously spoken about the importance of the US and China attending this peace summit, especially the leaders of these countries, Joe Biden and Xi Jinping.

However, the question remains as to how willing China is to stand by Ukraine, given their relationship with Russia.

The Ukrainian leader has also decided to address US President Joe Biden, believing that if he is absent from the summit, it would signify support, namely applause, for Putin. His desire is for the US president to be part of this summit.

"If he is not present, it will be just like applauding Putin: personally applauding and doing so standing. I believe that the Peace Summit needs President Biden, and other leaders who are looking at the US response also need him,"- Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, as quoted by Outlook India.

It's still unclear whether Joe Biden will be part of the summit, but the coming days could confirm his decision. The Ukrainian president believes that if certain countries truly desire peace, then they will be part of this summit and, in turn, raise their voices against Russia.

"If you want peace, you will be there and you will speak, even if you don't agree with something,"- he continued.

The Russians also intend to organize something similar, and the President of Ukraine believes that countries indifferent to war will certainly align themselves with their enemy, Russia. Looking at the world, it seems that there aren't many such countries, but the fact is that they exist. Some of these countries are Belarus, Iran, North Korea, Syria, China, India, Hungary, and seemingly Serbia. There are several other countries that have, at many times, sided with Russia, providing them with moral support.

Zelenskyy stresses that Russian President Vladimir Putin is afraid because of this summit. The Russian leader has repeatedly expressed readiness for peace, but Zelenskyy and other leaders believe that Putin wants peace on his terms, which is currently not possible. The Ukrainian leader believes that the Russians are making the wrong moves, which only deepen the conflict and lead to worse relations and chaos between these two countries.

"Putin is very scared of the peace summit. He has been trying to thwart this summit and continues to do so," - Zelenskyy said.

It seems that the majority of countries worldwide will be part of this meeting, while the Russians have refused to attend this summit. It will be interesting to follow this summit and determine whether any solutions to this conflict will be found. As mentioned earlier, the summit will take place in Switzerland on June 15-16, 2024. The intention is to find a lasting solution for peace in Ukraine, taking into account international law and the Charter of the UN. The goal is for all countries participating in this summit to collectively determine the best solutions.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy's confirmation about the peace summit in Switzerland

On May 2nd of this year, Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed via social media that the first Peace Summit will be held in Switzerland. He reiterated what we previously mentioned, which is the discussion aimed at finding a lasting solution for peace in Ukraine, taking into account other factors. The Ukrainian president is pleased that many countries have expressed openness to attending this meeting.

"As Swiss President Viola Amherd and I previously agreed, the first Peace Summit will take place on June 15-16 in Burgenstock, near Luzern, Switzerland.

Heads of state[s] and government[s] from all continents are invited and expected to attend.

The summit will serve as a platform to discuss ways to achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. All states invited to the summit have demonstrated their commitment to these principles."-Zelenskyy wrote.

There isn't much time left until this Peace Summit, and we will closely monitor developments in the coming days to see if the leaders of major countries will confirm their attendance. Zelenskyy eagerly awaits the response of the major leaders, primarily the President of China and the US. He believes that their presence will publicly confirm their willingness to help Ukraine in its fight against the enemy.

At this peace summit, there will certainly be interesting positions regarding the war in Ukraine and lasting peace. This will be a great opportunity for some countries to show how willing they are to stop the chaos in Ukraine. Zelenskyy hopes for the best outcome and a complete turnaround in the war.
