Kiril Budanov, the head of Ukrainian intelligence, stated that Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian military airfield Morozovsk in the Rostov region with at least 70 drones. Budanov said that the drones were launched from Ukrainian territory towards the airfield, which is located about 270 kilometers from the front line, as reported by Unian.

He added that they are awaiting information on whether any aircraft were damaged in the attack. Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that during the night, air defense systems shot down three unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the Rostov region.

Russian air defense systems destroyed and intercepted three drones over the Rostov region during the past night, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. "Last night, the Kyiv regime's attempt to carry out a terrorist attack using airplane-type unmanned aerial vehicles on objects within the territory of the Russian Federation was thwarted," the Ministry stated.

Available satellite images of the military base released by "Planet Labs" reportedly show two SU-34 fighter-bombers at the Morozovsk Air Base in southern Russia, as well as some kind of white structure, possibly a hangar, before the attack.

The second picture shows the consequences of the attack, i.e. the destroyed plane and structure.

Downed Drones and Missiles in Seven Regions

On Friday, the Ukrainian military announced that it had shot down seven out of 14 missiles and all 17 drones launched by Russia in a nighttime attack.

Air defense forces shot down seven of the ten Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles. The Ukrainian military shot down drones and missiles in seven regions. The governor of the Zaporizhzhia region said that a missile hit an open area without causing damage and that losses were immediately reported, according to AFP.

In its own attack on the same day, Russia launched three Iskander-M ballistic missiles and one air-launched Kinzhall ballistic missile, Reuters reported. Simultaneously, Russia announced that it had shot down 87 Ukrainian drones, 70 of which targeted the Rostov region (south), where the headquarters of the Russian operation in Ukraine is located.

In Russian shelling of the Nikopol district in the Ukrainian Dnipropetrovsk region, a 17-year-old girl was injured, and a hospitality establishment and three houses were damaged, stated the head of the military administration of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak, today.

He added that Russian forces used kamikaze drones and artillery in the attack, Ukrinform reported. "The settlements of Nikopol, Pokrov, and Mirove were attacked," Lysak stated on his Telegram channel.
