North Korea and Russia are enjoying good relations, as recent events indicate. Specifically, Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un were seen riding in a Russian-made limousine, Aurus. This car was a gift to Kim from Putin, highlighting a special event that could speak a lot about Putin's plans and objectives. The event was planned with high-security measures, clearly aimed at showing cohesion between these two powerful nations led by leaders known for their firmness.

Interestingly, Vladimir Putin visited the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, after many years. The two leaders also signed a mutual defense obligation agreement, which the North Korean President referred to as an alliance. It's evident that Russia is seeking reliable allies who could potentially assist in continued conflicts or broader-scale conflicts in the future.

Immediately after the ride, Russian state television broadcasted a video showing Putin driving the official presidential Aurus while Kim Jong-un was in the passenger seat. They drove through a park and then stopped, where a suited individual opened the doors for both leaders. Subsequently, they engaged in a walk, likely discussing interesting topics. Many speculate the focus was on the war in Ukraine and the potential future of Russia and North Korea.

During their walk, they were accompanied by two men who appeared to be interpreters. Kim, known for his passion for cars since childhood, later took the wheel himself and drove them back. This isn't the first time the Russian leader has gifted a car to his North Korean counterpart; he did the same a few months prior. The Aurus Senat is modeled after the Soviet-era ZIL limousine and seems to have impressed Kim, who evidently wanted it in his collection. His car collection already includes top-tier models like Mercedes, Maybach, and Rolls-Royce, reflecting his genuine enthusiasm for automobiles.

What does the partnership between North Korea and Russia mean?

The world is not particularly happy with such partnerships, considering everyone knows the political ideologies and goals of these two famous leaders. North Korea has been causing problems for years, and its closed system in which its people live is surely a reason why some are not optimistic about Kim Jong-un's future actions. Moreover, Russian leader Vladimir Putin has already caused enough chaos, and if he were to make controversial moves, it would create even greater problems globally. Putin is known for such actions, and cooperation with the North Korean leader does not inspire optimism for positive outcomes.

It's clear that Russia and North Korea are strengthening their ties day by day, ready to defy many. Putin needs allies at a time when the whole world seems to be against him. The Russian leader does not want his country to collapse or potentially be overthrown. He intends to maintain the same philosophy as before, seeking the best partners for it. Similarly, Kim Jong-un is not a popular figure in world politics and also needs allies like Russia.

Judging by media reports, Putin and Kim had a two-hour conversation. The pact on strategic partnership only exacerbates conflicts and chaos, although Russian officials deny such claims.

Yuri Ushakov reacts

Assistant to the Russian President Yuri Ushakov said that this pact is a result of "profound evolution of the geopolitical situation in the world and the region." Ushakov stated that the new document is in line with all fundamental principles of international law and does not have any confrontational nature. He mentioned that it is not directed against any individual country but aims to ensure greater stability in the Northeast Asia region.

The Russians are also not sure that major countries will not act if they continue their attacks in Ukraine, especially if their attacks and offensive escalate further. Vladimir Putin is aware that the world is unlikely to remain indifferent and silently watch, which is one of the reasons why he needs partners.

Russians have emphasized that their intentions are not to "further conquer" some countries if they achieve their goals in Ukraine. They continue to firmly stand behind the belief that the threat to Russians in parts of Ukraine and the potential entry of Ukraine into NATO justify their offensive. The Russian leader will not abandon his ideals and intentions as long as Ukrainians maintain the same policy and philosophy. Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian leader, has no intention of changing anything regarding his policies. He firmly stands by his words and ideals.

We will see what unfolds next, and whether this partnership with Kim Jong-un will prove to be a positive or negative development for Putin. Such actions are likely to deepen the anger from leaders of major countries like the USA, the United Kingdom, France, and others.
