Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuses to leave things to chance and demands Europe and the world continue their support, urging increased arms supplies to Ukraine to enable attacks on Russian territory. In a video address, Zelenskyy emphasized the need to destroy Russian combat aircraft. Since the beginning of the war, the Ukrainian president has highlighted that air defense is Ukraine's priority, given it was their weakest aspect exploited by the Russians.

“Russian combat aircraft must be destroyed wherever they are, by all effective means available,” said Zelenskyy, as quoted by War is boring.

The Ukrainian president intends to prevent air attacks that have claimed the lives of many Ukrainians since the beginning of the war. Russians continuously assault Ukrainian positions and cities, ready to prevent their plans. Given the conditions on the battlefield, Americans have authorized Ukrainians to use weapons provided by the West and missile systems to attack border regions where Russian forces are located and conduct assaults.

Americans have realized that the current course of the war does not inspire optimism and that it is necessary to send a strong response to the Russians. Although Vladimir Putin is unhappy with Western policy and such moves, he has yet to provide a concrete reaction to everything. Ukrainians would find it difficult to make progress and achieve their goals without ongoing support from the West since day one.

The Ukrainian president admitted that after receiving approval to use weapons, he immediately felt the benefits and progress. Ukrainians do not want to watch the attacks of the opposite side with their hands tied and remain silent in the face of such attacks. Zelenskyy intends to retaliate with the same measure and completely spoil the Russian plans.

The Ukrainian government aims to end the further progress of the Russian military and completely destroy them. While they have succeeded in some areas, important challenges lie ahead in the coming period. Zelenskyy emphasized that achieving this goal won't be possible without Western assistance supplying them with weapons.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy makes joining the EU a priority

The Ukrainian leader also addressed the country's efforts to join the EU, with negotiations for entry set to begin in the coming weeks. Zelenskyy views this event as historical and a turning point in the country's history. Despite Vladimir Putin's disappointment with Ukraine's policies, all he can do is continue questioning how long this situation will persist.

Ukrainians have no intention of abandoning their aspirations to join the EU, as they are determined to pursue this goal. As one of the conditions for a ceasefire and ending the war, Putin has insisted that Ukrainians must stop their intentions to join the EU and NATO. The Russian leader is wary of a scenario where NATO is close to Russia, fearing both encirclement and interference with Russian plans.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in his address to the nation, confirmed a potential new chapter in EU-Ukraine relations. With the EU having approved a framework agreement, the Ukrainian president expressed excitement and optimism about what lies ahead. Ukraine's intentions to join the EU have been long-standing, and it appears they are on a promising path towards achieving that goal.

"We are also preparing for a new result in our relations with the European Union. The EU has already approved the negotiating framework for Ukraine, and we expect the actual start of negotiations on June 25 – the Ukrainian Government delegation will be in Brussels for that. It is a truly historic week."- Zelenskyy said.

The President further emphasized that this would not be possible without those who fight for this country and who strengthen Ukraine in all ways. Zelenskyy is grateful to everyone who has great importance in this story, considering that this is the only way for a more promising future.

According to media reports, a conference could be held as soon as tomorrow to discuss the framework agreement for the EU's association with Ukraine and Moldova. Both countries evidently wish to distance themselves from Russia and its policies, aligning instead with other European states toward a brighter future. The intentions of Ukraine's leadership to focus on alliances with promising countries in the East are clear, aiming for a flourishing unlike any before. Of course, in an environment marked by war and complete chaos, it's hard to believe Ukraine can move in this direction, but optimism persists that an end to the Ukrainian population's nightmare may come in the near future.

It will be interesting to follow the unfolding of the situation and see what awaits us in the coming period. Russia is not happy with Ukraine's moves, and Vladimir Putin surely has an answer for them.
