Formula One teams will race under lights in Las Vegas streets in 2023, as the F1 management have added a new event on their calendar. Las Vegas will be the third US venue apart from Austin and Miami in Formula One calendar.
According a statement released by Formula One management, Las Vegas would hold an F1 event on a Saturday night in November, a rare incidence in Formula One that usually arranges its GP events on Sundays. On top of that, the Las Vegas F1 race will include some of the city’s most popular landmarks, casinos and hotels in a deal which would likely to continue multiple years.
Formula One also added in the statement that the 6.2-kilometer (3.8-mile) circuit will feature Caesars Palace, Bellagio Fountain, Mandalay Bay alongside MSG Sphere. MSG Sphere has still been under construction and is expected to be completed by next year.
Nonetheless, Formula One has yet to confirm the date of its first Las Vegas event.
Las Vegas to host F1 event in 2023
In the matter of the fact, latest move from Formula One to add Las Vegas into its calendar, came against the backdrop of a steep upsurge in interest about the event in the United States, largely fleshed up by a Netflix blockbuster “Drive to Survive”.
Meanwhile, expressing a through and through optimism over latest F1 decision to add Las Vegas into its scheduled aside from Miami GP and Austin Circuit, F1 Chief Stefano Domenicali said, “This is an incredible moment for Formula One that demonstrates the huge appeal and growth of our sport with a third race in the US. ”
