Red Bull’s Helmut Marko concerned by “dangerous” Mercedes potential

Red Bull F1 Team are either too concerned over Mercedes’ potential, or are trying to fabricate an image that Mercedes had reached a supreme level, which might just be another mind-game inside the F1 garages. If truth is to be spoken, just a few weeks after Red Bull boss Horner had expressed frets on Mercedes’ new upgrades, Red Bull F1 Team advisor Helmut Marko said on Wednesday that Mercedes could challenge both Red Bull and Ferrari every week.

Though, the real grid story unfurls a different tale, as Mercedes have been digging deeper to find a way to back into the form, though the team had yet to develop a car that could match the class of Red Bull or Ferrari.

Mercedes’ Hamilton complained on Monaco GP that he had never experienced such bumpiness in his entire career after latest Mercedes upgrade, while the 37-year-old seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, also had sent an ultimatum earlier this week that the team must develop a car that could put up good fight against Ferrari and Red Bull.

Although, Mercedes F1 team have still been struggling with Lewis Hamilton scuffling for form, Marco expressed optimism over Mercedes’ recent upgrades in an interview with a press agency.

Adding that the Formula One team have been showing off flashes of huge potential, Marko said, “Mercedes is doing it continuously, so for us it's difficult to interpret where that lap time is coming from. Listening closely to the Mercedes people, I don't think they know either.

But the dangerous thing is the potential seems to be there. And once that can be called up over a race distance, then they'll be right up there or right at the front credibly fast laps in practice and also in the races, both with [Lewis] Hamilton and [George] Russell”.
