All the curiosities about Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton is an icon that transcends the world of sport in general, let alone that of F1. The 7-time British F1 world champion is on par with other sports stars, such as Michael Jordan or Serena Williams.

Here are all the curiosities about the British

Lewis was born in Stevenage, in the county of Hertfordshire, to Anthony Hamilton and Carmen Larbalestier.

His maternal family is originally from England, while his paternal family comes from Central America, more precisely from the State of Grenada, in the Caribbean Sea, from which his grandfather arrived in the United Kingdom in 1954.

Following the separation of the parents in 1987, Hamilton lived with his mother and half-sisters Nicola and Samantha until the age of twelve, when he decided to move in with his father, stepmother Linda and stepbrother Nicolas.

He discovered his passion for motors in 1991, after receiving an electric model car as a gift from his father. Realizing Lewis' outstanding talent for racing, Anthony went into debt to get him into a kart, serving as his son's manager until 2010.

He is an Arsenal fan. He was engaged to Pussycat Dolls lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger from November 2007 to February 2015. Since 2017 he has adopted a vegan diet and, again from that year, he has been involved in initiatives aimed at safeguarding the environment and animals.

In 2022 he received the honorary citizenship of Brazil. In November 2007 he participated as a guest in an episode of Top Gear, recording an amazing time of 1: 44: 7 (in the wet) and 1: 42: 9 in the dry on the program circuit.

In the movie Cars 2 he voiced a McLaren MP4-12C playing himself. He also returned to this role in Cars 3. He also performed a motion capture cameo in the video game Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. In July 2020 he revealed, with a post on Instagram, that he was the rapper XNDA, known for having collaborated on the song Pipe by Christina Aguilera, contained in the album Liberation.

Careers and successes

He is considered to be one of the best drivers of all time. Together with Michael Schumacher, he is the most successful champion in the history of Formula 1, with 7 world titles won: in 2008 with McLaren and in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 with Mercedes.

He is also the driver with the most victories, podiums, pole positions and points in the history of the competition. He stands out for his very aggressive driving style, for his speed in qualifying and for his solidity in the race as well as for his dexterity in the wet, characteristics that make him a complete and very difficult driver for rivals.

Born of a mixed couple, with a father of Caribbean descent and dark complexion and a mother with a fair complexion, he is the first mulatto driver in history to have participated in a Formula 1 grand prix, as well as the first to win a world title.

Since his debut in the top category, Hamilton has won at least one race and one pole position during the world championship, making him the only driver in the history of the highest formula to have succeeded from the first season for fifteen consecutive years.

With seven world titles he is the most successful Briton of all time, as well as the only Anglo-Saxon to have managed to triumph for four consecutive editions (in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020). His race number is 44. He is also owner of the "X44" Electric SUV team, in the Extreme E championship.
