Lewis Hamilton “transformed” by recent trip to Africa

Lewis Hamilton, the seven-times world champion and the winner a record number of podium-finishes and victories in F1 history, said in an Instagram post later this week that he felt “transformed” following his latest travel to Africa during F1 summer break.

Nonetheless, Hamilton’s latest remark came forth just a week ahead of Belgium GP. Hamilton, the 37-year-old Briton having had 103 victories and a similar number of podium-finishes in Formula One apart from seven driver’s championship title, has been struggling this year following last year’s December title decider in Abu Dhabi, when race referee Michael Masi’s mistake costed the F1 legend a record eighth driver’s championship title.

The incident took a greater toll on F1 arena as FIA had decided to install two race referees or race directors in a season instead one alongside an overhaul in administration of safety cars. On top of that, FIA also has been set to inject new rule this season over porpoising that will raise a car’s floor by 25mm from next year.

Amid such landscape, a refreshing remark from Hamilton could be contemplated as a sign of optimism for Mercedes’ fans.

Lewis Hamilton has demonstrated numerous photos of his Africa trip in Instagram, as the Briton who was honoured with a knighthood last year and an honorary Brazilian citizenship this year, visited a number of African terrains including Namibia, Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Adding that the Africa trip has been some of his best days in life, the 37-year-old said, “These past two weeks have been some of the best days of my entire life. I'm not the same man I was before this trip, all the beauty, love and peacefulness I experienced has me feeling fully transformed”.
