Standings after Brazil GP: Russell takes first F1 win as Hamilton seizes Mercedes 1-2

On Sunday night, Mercedes F1 racer George Russell snatches his first Formula One win in style, while Mercedes seized their first F1 victory this season with Hamilton backing up a 1-2 in Sao Paulo. George Russell’s performance has been scintillating with precision and speed at every tight angle, while Hamilton had had a decent race, too.

Russell and Hamilton secured first and second place respectively shortly after the beginning of Brazil GP, however, at lap 7, after resumption from a safety car, Verstappen pressed Hamilton out of the track and has been met with a five seconds penalty.

Hamilton recovered shortly after the scrap, as the seven-time world champion finished second behind Russell. Besides, on a lap 60 restart, Russell retains his lead over the seven-time world champion and racked up his first win in Formula One, as appears Hamilton might have to witness his first season without a victory since 2007 with only one race remaining this season.

F1 season 2022 will end with Abu Dhabi GP, which is set to begin on November 20.
