Who could be F1 breakout candidates for '22? George Russel or Carlos Sainz!

Formula One has been bourgeoning with a clutch of intriguing young talents who might be on the brink of making their presences known in the top-tier arena, as Verstappen has underscored the F1’s gradual gyration towards a youth rebellion in Abu Dhabi last month.

There have been several other young stars as well whose plausible domination in the track in 2022 could not be ignored as stated by several analysts. Plenty of racers are there who could establish themselves as the future flying dazzlers in F1 in a near term as McLaren’s Sir Lewis Hamilton’s career seems to be closing in on an end.

Formula One’s breakthrough candidates for 2022

Many analysts in Formula One think that George Russel could be a perfect pick, as his three years with Williams had shown an upscaled promise.

The 23-year-old British racing driver had frequently dragged nearly uncompetitive cars into Q2 or Q3, proving why Mercedes had invested so heavily on his childhood and junior career. It is expected he will replace Bottas this season and race along with Hamilton 23 times throughout the year, assuming Hamilton decides against quitting.

When it comes to Ferrari, there has never been any doubt that Carlos Sainz would have been one of the most gifted young drivers in Formula One. The Spaniard’s position in Ferrari rarely seems to be in doubt. Sainz’s performance might be eclipsed up to some extent over growing hype on his former McLaren teammate Norris, even though, the 27-year old son of Carlos Sainz, a double World Rally Champion and the nephew of rally racer Antonio Sainz, had clearly outclassed teammate Charlese Leclerc throughout the 2021 with four podiums.
