Hamilton looks totally focused on 2022 campaign, says F1 boss Domenicali

In what could be contemplated as a soothing remark for Mercedes engineers alongside fans, Formula One boss Stefano Domenicali said on Sunday that the seven-time world champion, Hamilton, has been absolutely committed to battling for his eighth title in 2022.

In point of fact, since Hamilton’s contentious defeat in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on last season’s closure in December following a disputed decision from race director Masi, the Briton went off line and his teammates were reportedly quoted saying that the F1 dazzler has been utterly depressed following the defeat to Red Bull’s Verstappen that costed him the eighth championship title.

However, followed by a nearly two-month break, the 37-year-old broke off silence last week in social media and posted a photo of himself with a caption that said, “I’ve been gone. Now I’m back!” However, Hamilton had last been publicly seen in a shopping mall in Abu Dhabi two months earlier.

F1 boss Domenicali says Hamilton to race in 2022

Amid growing debate on whether Hamilton will continue to pursue his career as a racer in Formula One with Masi’s job in jeopardy, Formula One boss Domenicali said on Sunday that the Mercedes driver’s silence had spoken of his desire to fight for an eighth championship title this year.

Besides, as this season’s F1 will bring in new challenges for Formula One drivers with new technical regulations, addressing to the technical areas of a live event this season which would more likely to require all the experiences of a top-tier F1 racer like of Hamilton, Domenicali said, “From what I see in the picture he has posted, he seems to be totally focused on this year’s challenge that, sporting-wise, will be very interesting.

We are all looking forward to seeing how the new cars behave and sure this will be as exciting as the last one. ””
