Elon Musk wants Manchester United: price $6 billion

According to the Daily Mail, Elon Musk would be interested in buying Manchester United, the historic English Premier League club. As early as August 2022, the Tesla CEO had shown interest in buying into the Red Devils, later denied on Twitter by Musk himself.

According to the latest list proposed by Forbes, Musk in 2022 was the richest man in the world with a net worth estimated at $219 billion. The offers set by the Glazers, who own 97% of the club, should expire on February 17, in practice in 72 hours from now but it is not a rigid deadline unless an indispensable and multi-billion dollar offer arrives.

Elon Musk would also have claimed that Manchester United is the only sports team for which he could go crazy, even if the tycoon himself would have dismissed the rumors by speaking of a long-standing joke. In reality, however, he seems to have recently returned to office to try to win the competition from the head of Ineos, Jim Ratcliffe, the fourth largest chemical company in the world and a Qatari group.

The Mirror reports that the Glazers would like no less than 5 billion pounds ($6 billion -ed.)! The QIA has nothing to do with Qatar Sports Investments which owns Paris Saint Germain and also has a stake in Braga (Portuguese company) and therefore there would be no conflict of interest if Manchester United and PSG played in the same competition European.

The situation, on the other hand, is similar to what is already happening between Leipzig and Salzburg which belong to Red Bull. There are several suitors interested in buying Manchester United, including some Arab parties.

In the world of football, Saudi parties are among the top investors, including the owners of PSG, Manchester City and Newcastle. With Friday's deadline for offers to buy the English club, Musk, the man who according to Forbes is the second richest in the world, could seriously formalize the offer.
