In a recent turn of events, a former lawyer who represented Donald Trump during the Justice Department's investigation into the former president's handling of classified documents has attributed his departure to internal conflicts within Trump's legal team.

Timothy Parlatore, the former lawyer in question, shed light on the turbulent dynamics that hindered his ability to effectively defend the president.

Unveiling the Internal Struggles within Trump's Legal Team

"The real reason is because there are certain individuals that made defending the president much harder than it needed to be," Parlatore candidly stated, alluding to the internal strife that influenced his decision.

One particular figure singled out by Parlatore was Boris Epshteyn, a long-standing member of Trump's orbit who joined the former president's 2016 campaign as an aide and continued to be involved in his affairs. Parlatore highlighted Epshteyn's actions as obstacles impeding their legal defense efforts.

"In particular, there's one individual who works for him, Boris Ephsteyn, who had really done everything he could to try to block us — to prevent us from doing what we could to defend the president," Parlatore expressed, underscoring the deliberate efforts to thwart their legal strategy.

Lawyer's Decision to Withdraw Compromises the Defense Strategy

Parlatore further elucidated the detrimental effects of internal discord on their uphill battle against the Department of Justice and the special counsel.

He stated, "It's difficult enough fighting against DOJ and, in this case, special counsel," Parlatore added. "But when you also have people within the tent that are also trying to undermine you, block you, and really make it so that I can't do what I know that I need to do as a lawyer, and when I am getting into fights like that, that's detracting from what is necessary to defend the client and ultimately not in the clients best interest, so I made the ultimate decision to withdraw." In response to Parlatore's claims, a spokesperson for Donald Trump confirmed his departure from the legal team but swiftly refuted the allegations of internal strife.

The spokesperson asserted, "His statements regarding current members of the legal team are unfounded and categorically false," The revelation of internal conflicts within Trump's legal team casts a shadow over the president's defense strategy.

The departure of a lawyer closely involved in the case signifies the gravity of the internal challenges faced by the team. As the investigation into Trump's handling of classified documents progresses, it remains to be seen how these internal discordances will impact the former president's legal battle.
