The businessman, adventurer, and philanthropist Richard Branson. The Virgin airline's first man and recently the author of the book "Like a Virgin: Secrets They Won't Teach You at Business School" fits these descriptions. Branson can be trusted.

His first company was founded in 1970, and he now owns companies in eight different industries, worth more than a billion dollars, and he does all that without a business degree. This is a list of 9 impressive tips that Business Insider culled from the book: 1.

Don't do anything you don't enjoy! Blood, sweat, and tears are required to carry out the work, but you should be satisfied at the end because you are creating something you are proud of. 2. Let your presence be known! As Branson points out in the book, it's important to be on the front page, and not on the back.

It is your responsibility to sell yourself. Make a fool of yourself if you want to survive." 3. Be careful when choosing the name of your company!

4. There is no such thing as a risk-free business! "The brave may not live forever, but the cautious never live at all.".

5. The first impression matters. As does the second. You acquire customers with the first, and you retain them with the second. 6. Perfection cannot be achieved! It is a danger that when someone makes something perfect, they sit back, relax, and bask in their laurels, while someone else rages about it and strives to improve it.

7. In most cases, customers are right! 8. Defining your brand is absolutely essential! If you don't, your competitors will. 9. It is important to explore unexplored areas of the business.
