In the escalating conflict in the Donetsk region, the Russian Defense Ministry has recently announced that its forces have strengthened their tactical position near the settlement of Vesyoloye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, reports the TASS.
The ministry shed light on the latest developments, detailing the operations that led to this claimed enhancement of ground control. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that within a span of 24 hours, their military forces managed to repel four separate assaults initiated by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
These confrontations took place near the settlements of Vesely, Krasnogorovka, Marinka, and Khimik. "In the Donetsk area, units of the battlegroup South, in cooperation with aircraft and artillery, successfully repelled an attack by the Ukrainian 110th mechanized brigade in the vicinity of the Veseloye settlement in the Donetsk People's Republic," stated the ministry.
The collaboration between air and ground forces appeared to be a determining factor in the success of the operations.

Russian forces, according to the Defense Ministry, launched decisive counteroffensive operations, capitalizing on their fire attacks on the opposing forces.

They reported, "the enemy's losses amounted to up to 305 Ukrainian servicemen, two armored fighting vehicles, seven motor vehicles, as well as a US-made M777 artillery system."
