In a detailed announcement, Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, provided an in-depth account of the strategic underpinnings of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. He traced the operation's origins and laid out the tactical planning that culminated in the present scenario.

A Continuation of Previous Engagements

"Our battle began where Operation Saif al-Quds ended in 2021," Ubaida stated, emphasizing that the motivation driving the new operation was a direct continuation of their past endeavors.

One of the primary objectives remained the support of Al-Aqsa and prisoners. He noted, "The focus was on supporting Al-Aqsa and the prisoners." Ubaida detailed how coordination with the "axis of resistance" led to significant developments in the present conflict.

"Coordinated extensively with the axis of resistance, leading to developments in the conflict," he said, drawing attention to the complexities of the larger geo-political landscape.

In-depth Strategic Planning

Ubaida touched upon the rigorous planning that went into the operation.

The detailed analysis of the terrain and weather conditions in the operational area was part of the meticulous preparation. In addition to geographical considerations, he also mentioned a stringent fire support plan devised to secure the troops' safe arrival to the Gaza Division.

Furthermore, the launch of a massive number of rockets—500 into the Gaza envelope and 1,000 outside it—was a crucial part of Al-Qassam's strategic moves after their entry. Elaborating on the deceptive tactics employed by the Brigades, Ubaida explained, "Strategic deception efforts dating back to early 2022," suggesting that the groundwork for the operation had been laid long before it was launched.

This approach, he contended, "stunned the Israeli enemy, leading to a strategic failure."

A Message to the People and Future Intentions

Ubaida was also explicit in addressing both the immediate audience and the larger Palestinian community.

He conveyed a message of resilience, saying, "Despite Zionist incursions, we strategically chose to pass over some battles." Reiterating the commitment to the cause, he emphasized that the "Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood continues on the ground in all operational areas." His closing remarks were particularly poignant as he addressed the people directly: "To our people in Al-Aqsa, the West Bank, and Gaza, our battle is for the sake of the blessed Al-Aqsa." He extended this sentiment to prisoners, reassuring them of the brigade's dedication: "To our prisoners, we assure that the papers we hold will be the price for your freedom."
