In the early morning haze, the Gaza Strip witnessed the unfolding of yet another tragic chapter as Israeli warplanes relentlessly targeted the region, marking the 13th straight day of airstrikes. According to firsthand accounts from witnesses and medical professionals, the toll has surpassed 40 Palestinians dead in the day's attacks alone.

Children Among the Dead in Khan Younis

The state-run Wafa news agency reported a particularly distressing event south of Gaza City in Khan Younis. A residential house came under direct fire from the warplanes, leading to the demise of nine individuals.

Of those, seven were mere children. Another child lost their life in a separate Israeli airstrike west of Khan Younis. Palestinian medical sources confirmed the devastating news. Adding to the day's grim tally, an airstrike in the Nuseirat refugee camp, situated in central Gaza, resulted in the death of a Palestinian baby.

Several others in the vicinity sustained injuries. Moreover, intense airstrikes in Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, claimed the lives of over 30 Palestinians. Many were injured, and there were additional reports of Israeli warplanes targeting a house in Rafah's Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, which led to further casualties.

Israeli Military Focuses on Hamas Infrastructure

The Israeli military maintains that their key objective is to incapacitate Hamas infrastructure within Gaza. As reported by Al Jazeera in English, the military claims to have successfully decimated "hundreds" of the group's locations.

These include, but are not limited to, anti-tank missile launch sites, intelligence positions, and tunnel shafts. Furthermore, the military confirmed the elimination of several Palestinian fighters, identifying them as key figures behind the incursion into Israel on October 7.

Alongside them, 10 additional members of the armed group met the same fate.

The Human Toll of Conflict

As per the latest data, the Gaza Strip has seen a staggering 3,478 deaths and 12,065 injuries thus far. Meanwhile, the occupied West Bank reports the death of 69 Palestinians, with another 1,300 wounded.

Israel, on the other hand, has endured the loss of 1,403 lives, with 3,800 others sustaining injuries. As the conflict intensifies and casualties mount, the international community watches with bated breath, hoping for a resolution that can bring a lasting peace to the region.
