The life of Prince Harry of the United Kingdom has always been in the spotlight, since an early age, since the divorce of his mother, Diana, the Princess of Wales from her father, the current King Charles III. After Diana's death, Harry's life was punctuated by numerous scandals: being one of my peers (more or less a year) I always followed what happened live, and I always thought: "Do they all happen to him?" During his youth, the prince was at the center of numerous scandals.
At a Colonial and Native themed masquerade party in 2005, Prince Harry wore a jacket with Nazi swastikas, causing some controversy. This fact caused incredible embarrassment to the entire royal family. Harry later issued a public statement apologizing for his actions.
In 2007 he was photographed kissing his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy on the lips in public, despite royal protocol preventing public effusions. In January 2009, the British newspaper News of the World published a video in which Prince Harry referred to one of his comrades as Paki and another as Raghead.
Clarence House immediately issued a press release confirming that the Prince «is perfectly aware of the offensive nature of the term Paki used towards his comrade, and he is very sorry if anyone is offended.
Harry: a life full of scandals?
In August 2012 he was hit by a new scandal, confirmed by the English Royal Family, complete with an attempt to cover up the affair.
Some photos of Harry naked in Las Vegas were published by the American gossip site, TMZ.com. Queen Elizabeth herself had strictly forbidden newspapers to make the photos public, but the Sun did not listen to the report from the British Royal press office and published the photos anyway.
In 2016 he began a relationship with the American actress Meghan Markle. On November 27, 2017, the official engagement was announced by the British royal house. In January 2020 the Duke and Duchess announced that they would step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family and balance their time between the UK and North America.
A statement released by the Palace confirmed that the couple would become financially independent and would cease to represent the monarchy. On March 9, 2020, Harry and Meghan attended the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey; it was their last official engagement as members of the British royal family.
To date, it is still unknown whether the couple will attend the royal family's 2023 Christmas party: rumors from the UK say that King Charles would like his son and grandchildren, but the same rumors always speak of conflicts between Harry and his brother, the Prince of Wales William, and between Meghan and the Princess of Wales Kate Middleton.
