The news of the tragic death of Alexei Navalny, one of the most prominent critics of the regime in Russia, echoed around the world today, causing a wave of reactions and expressions of condolences from different parts of the world.

Information about his death was published by the Federal Prison Service for the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, stating that Navalny died in penal colony number 3, where he was serving a 19-year prison sentence. For now, there is no information, and the case itself has attracted attention due to Navalny's controversial history with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Reactions to this news come from all sides. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Analena Berbok, pointed out on her profile on the X social network that Navalny died as a symbol of free and democratic Russia. Her words show respect for Navalny as a symbol of the struggle for freedom and democracy, stressing that his death is a great loss for Russian society and his supporters around the world.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his associates will not go unpunished if the death of Alexei Navalny, as reported by Russian officials, turns out to be true, Kremlin critic Yulia's wife said on Friday, Reuters reports.

Yulia Navalny called on the international community to come together and fight the "terrible regime" in Russia, in a statement at the Munich Security Conference, speaking in Russian through an interpreter. Josep Borell, the head of EU diplomacy, also took to social media to express his shock and sadness at Navalny's death.

His words emphasize the courage and commitment of Navalny in the fight for the honor of Russia, emphasizing that his death is the direct responsibility of the Putin regime. In the same vein, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, also expressed deep concern and sadness over Navalny's death.

Her words reflect resentment towards Vladimir Putin's regime, highlighting Navalny as a fighter for freedom and truth. The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejcinović Buric, called on the Russian authorities to conduct an urgent and thorough investigation into Navalny's death, stressing the need for transparency and accountability in this case.

The Russian oppositionist in exile, Garry Kasparov, also spoke out, calling Navalny a brave man who exposed corruption and crime in Putin's regime. His words show respect for Navalny as a fighter for truth and justice, emphasizing that his death is a consequence of the fight against authoritarianism.

This tragedy did not go unnoticed in the United States of America either. Vice President Kamala Harris expressed deep concern over Navalny's death, citing it as another example of the brutality of Vladimir Putin's regime. Her words clearly condemn the Putin regime and demand responsibility for this crime.

A similar tone was adopted by the head of American diplomacy, Anthony Blinken, who emphasized Russia's responsibility for Navalny's death. His words depict resentment and frustration over the situation in Russia, emphasizing the need for change and democratization in that country.

Navalny died in the prison in the Polar Circle where he was serving his prison sentence, the prison service announced, while the cause of death is still being determined.

This tragedy is a reminder of the seriousness of the situation in Russia and the need for the reaction of the international community in the fight for freedom and democracy in that country. Despite the numerous reactions and expressions of grief, many are wondering how it is possible that Navalny, known for his harsh criticism of the Russian regime, died while serving a prison sentence that should have been served in accordance with the law.

The question raises fundamental doubts about the circumstances of his death and prompts calls for an independent investigation to establish the truth. Navalny was a key figure in the Russian political landscape, known for his investigative work on corruption in Russian society and politics.

His videos and social media posts regularly exposed scandals at the top of the government, making him hugely unpopular with the ruling elite but hugely popular with many Russians tired of corruption and autocracy. This is not the first time Navalny has faced repression from the Russian authorities.

He has previously been exposed to numerous attacks, including nerve agent poisoning in August 2020, which he blamed on the Russian government. After recovering from the poisoning, he was arrested upon his return to Russia in January 2021, leading to mass protests across the country.

Navalny was one of the few voices who dared to publicly criticize Vladimir Putin and his administration. His courage and determination to oppose corruption and authoritarianism made him a hero to many, both in Russia and around the world.

However, at the same time, he became the target of continuous threats, pressures and attacks, which culminated in his tragic death.
