Elon Musk, the visionary CEO known for his groundbreaking work with Tesla and SpaceX, recently made headlines with his bold predictions about AI. In a live interview, Musk suggested that we might see AI surpass human intelligence by the end of next year, with the collective computing power of AI exceeding that of all humanity within five years.

Marcus, whose startup was acquired by Uber, disagrees with the rapid timeline Musk proposes for AI's development. He has gone as far as offering $1 million, later raised to $10 million by investor Damion Hankejh, to bet against Musk's predictions.

This bold move underscores the skepticism some experts feel about the near-term achievements of AI, contrasting sharply with Musk's optimistic projections.

These challenges, Marcus suggests, indicate that AI is still far from achieving the level of reliability and trustworthiness that would make it comparable to human intelligence. Moreover, Marcus calls for a more responsible approach to AI development, suggesting the establishment of a licensing authority to ensure AI's benefits are demonstrated before deployment.
