Tomb Raider is a game we played as children and a game we have only fond memories of. Lots of sleepless nights, coming back from school, all just to play Tomb Raider. Now we have good news. News that will surely delight all fans of this game.
The Tomb Raider adventure series will get a sequel. Tomb Raider will continue their journey after celebrating its 25th anniversary. The Crystal Dynamics team worked hard and brought us good news. They announced a new Lara Croft adventure.
"We have just started development on our next Tomb Raider game, powered by Unreal Engine 5," said Dallas Dickinson, Tomb Raider franchise manager at Crystal Dynamics, as quoted by pcgamer. "Our goal is to push the envelope of fidelity, and to deliver the high-quality cinematic action-adventure experience that fans deserve from both Crystal Dynamics and the Tomb Raider franchise." However, it seems that they took this project more seriously than ever before and that they focused as much as possible to make a top game.
It’s going to be a high-budget action-adventure we haven’t seen before. This game will also include a new engine. For this purpose, the game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, which means that it will be intended for the hardware of the current generation (PC, PS5, XSX / S).
Crystal Dynamics decided to make changes. Their development team thus became another studio in a series that gave up using their own game-making tools. The engine will not be the same. The Tomb Raider games we used to play were visual spectacles in their day and used an engine called Foundation.
Some may even remember that. Of course, all this implies something else. With this move, they aimed at a financial injection that will help them, and with this, they will achieve even greater profitability. According to some information, Tomb Raider cannot be expected immediately and we must be patient as there are still no indications that the game will show up soon.
Crystal Dynamics is also working on other projects and they want to give us many more surprises. We are looking forward to their other projects, and we hope that they will prepare for us equally good things as they have been so far.
